How CD approaches design
We use research and data, triangulate mood and journey, and balance user and business goals to create, often, one string of copy that encapsulates a whole message.
Strategy
Problem Definition— Help craft narratives and user journeys to articulate the problem and identify product/content opportunities.
Audits— Perform competitive, terminology and pattern audits
Product Strategy— Co-design flows, taking into account user needs, cognitive load, logic, cross-functional team requirements and engineering constraints.
Brand, product and information architecture— Map metaphors and mental models for related concepts and experiences.
Systems thinking— Content frameworks, principles and systems that articulate and scale solutions (ex. notification and education strategies).
Cross-app alignment— Maintain consistent experiences across the company with cross-team CD alignment, content standards and terminology.
Privacy and legal alignment— Translate cross-functional team and legal requirements into human language while mitigating risk.
Messaging hierarchy— Identify what information needs to be communicated and in what order.
Writing
Naming— Name features and products for in-product and external resonance.
Content Testing— A/B test multiple variants (ex. tone explorations, word choice, value props) to improve key metrics.
Writing— Succinctly articulate concepts and complex ideas to achieve business and user goals.
Accessibility— Ensure content adheres to AX best practices and screen readers.
Localization— Partner with internationalization to ensure content translates well into other locales.
